• As with all great art work, you must start with a clean canvas! We really cannot stress enough that the first and most important beauty tip is to take care of your skin with quality cleansers, toners, and moisturizers. Of course, we feel that our products are among the finest you can use. However, no matter what you use, to achieve ultimate beauty you should always cleanse with a gentle cleanser and follow up with toner. Toner is an especially important step that many people fail to use. The usage of a good toner helps restore pH balance to your skin and did you know that toner improves circulation to your face and gives you that rosy glow of youth? It does! Almost all of us need a good moisturizer. Even if you have oily skin, a light moisturizer perfects the skin tone and helps your skin to accept whatever make up you will be using. So before all other beauty tips, stick to the time-honored routine of cleanse, tone, and moisturize.

  • If possible, wait about 10 minutes after moisturizing to put on your make up. This will help your make up stay in place throughout the day.

  • To keep eye shadow in place use a dab of eye gel on the lids and let it dry. Foundation works, too - just be sure to let it dry. Either of these will form a good, smooth surface and give the eye shadow something to which to adhere.

  • Don't have a lot of time? After cleansing, toning, and moisturizing sweep a very light coat of loose bronzer over your entire face. Put on mascara and a dab of lip gloss. You will look healthy, glowing, and raring to go!

  • To create an illusion of greater lash length, place your mascara wand at the base of your lashes and gently roll it horizontally as you glide it through the lashes.

  • Always be careful when you are applying mascara to your lower eyelashes, remembering that if you have small eyes this can easily make them look distorted.

  • For best results, opt for lip and cheek colors which are of a similar depth to your choice of eyeshadow, to ensure that the overall look is not unbalanced.

  • If you have thin lips, always choose pale shades of lipstick and put a dot of gloss in the middle of your lower lip. Paler shades make lips look much fuller, while very dark colors make lips recede and look smaller.

  • If you're running late and don't have time to define your brows, slick them down with a small amount of moisturizer, which will keep any unruly hairs in place.

  • Once you have applied your lipstick, you can go to seal in the color and simutaneously protect your lips by painting over a fine top coat of vitamin E oil. Try to let it set for about three minutes before talking or eating or drinking. Vitamin E oil works as both a sealer and moisturizer for your lips.

  • If lipstick tends to end up on your teeth after applying, put your index finger in your mouth, make a kissing action, and then remove your finger! Excess lipstick ends up on your finger, not your teeth.

  • Blend, blend, blend. Harsh lines of demarcation aren't good looking on anyone's face! Blend eye shadow so that it seems to just feather away at its edges. You should not be able to see a "line" where it ends. Make sure foundation is blended down your neck enough so that you don't look like you are wearing a mask. Make sure blush is blended up to the top of the cheekbone and right below it. If you see a harsh line that outlines your blush, it is too harsh. You should look like you are naturally blushing.

  • Blot that lipstick, please. Use a tissue to gently blot your regular lipstick (follow package directions for "long wearing" lipsticks). This prevents running and streaking.

  • To improve the staying power of foundation, after application blot the skin with a tissue to remove any excess oil in the product.

  • For blondes and those with fair hair, brown mascara is a more natural-looking option than black and if more definition is required a brown/black variety is suitable.

  • If you want to wear a really pale shade of eye shadow, try adding definition to the eyes with a pencil and mascara to avoid the chance of looking washed out

  • The tone of your skin will change with the seasons, so adapt the colour of your foundation to suit by adding light or dark powder to subtly warm it.

  • Did you know you will get more mileage from your lipstick if you apply it with a lip brush? It is estimated that this way there are some twenty to twenty-five or so more applications to be had.

  • Want really flawless looking makeup? Apply liquid foundation with a foundation brush for even color and coverage. It takes some getting used to, and it takes time to do, but it is worth learning. This gives you an incredible skin surface.
